This client is a collector of contemporary art. Various pieces of art we sourced for her. Her house became a special place where you can find the most exclusive pieces of art like international photography, ceramic sculptures, paintings with an Azian touch. In the garden, in front of the house we placed an organic formed, corten steal sculpture of a Dutch artist.
The work of Dutch painter Hans de Bruijn is characterized by its expressionist method. He uses a special control of the paint, and still knows to make a clear composition which besides the sometimes very thick paint also imposed his particular use of color is expressed.
De Bruijn is known for his huge paintings of 2 to 3 meters. But even in a small format, he is a true master. Some of the paintings, therefore, have the size of not more than an A4.
De Bruijn bases most of his work in the tradition of painting. He recreates the romantic tradition by enlarging details and to paint it in its own expressive handwriting.
Hans de Bruijn studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. He graduated with honors in 1986. From 1986 to 1988 he attended a work period at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam.
For this house we served the client in close cooperation with Piet Boon, international architect/designer. We made an artplan Azian inspired. The dining room needed sunlight. An Azian photo-artwork (big size) from a Korean artist was placed in this room to catch the light. Meditative golden patinated coloured bronze sculptures were placed in the living room and a sparkling ceramic green sculpture of a dutch artist upstairs.
This house (a typical farmhouse) is situated in a green area. The living-room, south-west situated needed colourfull pieces of art. So a great dynamic acryl painted artwork of a Dutch artist was chosen. In the dark corner of the livingroom a Azian colourfull photo artwork was placed, also to catch the light. Two Identic sculptures were placed on a side table next to the painting. Outside in the garden next to the pond we hunted 3 sculptures (black dogs) of a German artist.
For JFK Gala 2011 we donated a big erotic photo artwork of Frank de Mulder. This exclusive piece of art has raised a big sum of money during the auction for charity at the Gala.
This photographer is a great talent for this reason a solo exhibition was held in Societe@Wexxs. Martijn did a beautiful serie with Asian women and their representation. We were very proud to show this special artwork.
In this serie Gijsbertsen makes no concessions, he creates images that are independent of any aesthetic point of view ever. His work is technically strong, colorful and has sometimes a surrealistic touch. The Geisha’s he portraited are traditionally dressed in order to get the perfect picture of the moment. Within theme and format Gijsbertsen mainly produces series.
Martijn Gijsbertsen is inspired by his fascinations and frustrations. While he focuses on social issues, he proclaims his mind clear and aesthetically as well. NRC recently published series ‘HuisjeBoompjeBeestje’ in which he portrays gay people with their dogs. He has a passion for graphics and patterns and handles it regularly in his photography.
As he wanted to refine and further deepen his work, he successfully completed the Photoacademy Amsterdam in 2011. Immediately, he was nominated in two categories for the Photo Academy Award. He also received the second prize in the Pride Photo Award (International) in the theme category “straight back at you”. Both at the Photo Academy Award and the Pride Photo Award an exhibition is associated where his artwork will be shown.
